Hostal san martin is located right off gran via, so the location couldn't be better. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room had a comfy double bed and a nice en-suite shower, a great surprise. The price was also very reasonable for the quality.

The location is very cenral.
Nothing negative, maybe it's not easy to find the hostel. An additional sign would help.

Comfortable Stay in Central Madrid
The room layout was effective, and I appreciated the limited noise from Gran Via. The staff members were helpful, and I enjoyed discovering a lovely nearby bar serving delicious grilled sandwiches.

Great location just a short walk from main attractions, providing surprisingly quiet rooms overlooking internal streets. The staff were friendly and available 24/7, made for stress-free interactions, especially when I misplaced the keys. The shared bathroom setup was adequate, although I would have preferred more privacy. The grilled sandwiches at the nearby bar were good and reasonably priced.

Had fine experience, overall absolutely great and simple place.
I loved the room with tv, the bed was very comfy. The location was particularly good for walking around a vast pedestrianized public square. The Irish bar was nice and the staff were super-friendly.

I found it clean and quiet, a pleasant surprise. The location made it easy to explore the local sights. I appreciated the reasonable price which allowed me to enjoy this trip. The place was a safe choice for a single traveler like me.
The room was stuffy , even with a fan. I noticed some areas could use more modern updates.

Location very near Gran Via was excellent and still my room was very quiet and I felt safe to go there. I had my own keys to the room and to the bulding, so it was easy to come and go. Fourth floor, but also an elevator. Single room was larger than I expected and very cosy with big bed and even an own shower! (Toilet was on the corridor, but near to my room.) This was the best hotel I've been in Madrid (and I've been in 3 hostals before this).
The internet did not work in my room, it only worked near the reception, but there were some nice chairs, so it was ok to go there with my laptop.

Rooms are basic with a bed, shower, television and (if needed) WiFi. Good value for money. Perfect hostel for a trip to the beautiful city of Madrid.
